1. At around 4.30 Damascus time I awoke to initial large sounds of over 10 rocket attacks, it immediately was clear from the types of missile being heard that it was a Western Attack conducted by the #U.S #France & #U.K
2. The strikes were heard clearly in all parts of the Capital and continued on and off for a duration of 50 minutes, Syrian state media reported the strikes but didn’t provide information as to the locations

We started a new year (I hope the last) of the Syrian civil war. But 2017 has been the most important year & the result of inflection point of the war in 2016 with many political & military developments : (1)
The first military operation of #SAA was Wadi Bara (23/12/2016 - 29/1/2017) which finished with the evacuation of rebels from Wadi Barada & the North montainous area in the border with Lebanon. At the same time other forces advanced in E.Ghouta reaching some parts of Hazrama (2) 
#SDF started the second phase of #WrathOfEuphrates operation on December securing the West flank of #Raqqa plains (3) 
1-Trip starts w standard car ride from Beirut to #Damascus. Capital feels v safe. During dinner, sound of artillery. No one flinches but me
2-Next day is spent with friends. Conversations ranged from discussing the #Syrian war to discussing the Syrian war.
3-Ride to #Aleppo is planned for 7:30 am start. I Am reminded that the old Damascus/Aleppo highway is only operable up to Homs
