@ericgarland Only the beginning, Eric.

Why?

I considered the flaw in cryptocurrency enabling the mass tracking/takedown of organized crime/Russian intel a modest side project for more than one reason. As we proceed, *why* will become more apparent.
@ericgarland So, SS7 protocols represent a massive flaw in cell-phone security.

Likely useful for years, but less so as it becomes public knowledge.

But sources & methods you *can* safely declassify?

@ericgarland @LouiseMensch @ninaandtito @thespybrief @911CORLEBRA777 What if a staggering source of hard evidence in the Russian coup came from a technical weakness of rapidly diminishing utility, & which urgently needed to be closed anyway?

Altcoin Marketcap vs $BTC:USD - their was an #ALTszn before $BTC capitulation in 2014. #btcusd
Altcoin Marketcap vs $BTC:Dominance -> Their is two main differences between 2014 and 2018:
#1 $BTC Dominance:
- never made a new high in dominance
- BTC gains from ALTs in it's big runs
- ALTs take from BTC after it tops
- BTC takes form ALTs after they top
#2 Margin Trading => the ability to short $BTC, $ETH, $XRP, $EOS, $LTC
- margin platforms take volume from ALTs on Spot
- their was no other way to make money except for ALTs - now you can short.
- shorting creates more selling pressure + buying pressure at reversal points

But let's start with Eric's documentation of media-influence operations & go from there.

Two, Eric *didn't* stop with documenting & researching just that one piece.

@ericgarland @20committee So, .@ericgarland gets a new kind of botnet targeting, & .@JamesFourM runs into issues w/his article on @Medium?

There was a warning about harassment & the countering release of evidence on the conspiracy.
.@FBI .@NSAGov .@DHSgov .@GCHQ
@ericgarland @20committee @JamesFourM @Medium @FBI @NSAGov @DHSgov @GCHQ The warning: Any egregious harassment of Kremlin critics could release or expedite yet *another* major evidence source against the conspiracy.

While unpleasant, I think these two each warrant something modest… yet formidable.

@ericgarland @20committee @JamesFourM @Medium @FBI @NSAGov @DHSgov @GCHQ So, Eric you brought up the agencies rating investments recently, as well as AIG, stock markets, etc.

@ericgarland @MingGao26 @YouTube Maybe I should clarify a few points. Nothing the .@FBI, .@NSAGov, .@DHSgov, @thespybrief aren't aware of already.

But for Russian operatives approaching the point of no return, why you *want* a deal w/#Mueller.
@ericgarland @MingGao26 @YouTube @FBI @NSAGov @DHSgov @thespybrief Briefly, as I've said before, the US can impose a total lockdown of any aggressor's economy, but the worst part is we can lift that total sanction on *everything* for a mere pittance - a virtual gift, even.

For every intel operative & leader involved in this assault.
@ericgarland @MingGao26 @YouTube @FBI @NSAGov @DHSgov @thespybrief If you're thinking, "Wait, we'd never be able to execute an attack like this again if they turn us in" you may have missed what a fiasco it is already.

@MollyMcKew @ifindkarma @goldengateblond On the other hand, if you're receiving #cryptocurrency payments, or babbling about your actions over Signal/WhatsApp while talking/texting the target of a warrant, are actively coordinating with, say, Cambridge Analytica, etc...

Well, you may have some issues.
@MollyMcKew @ifindkarma @goldengateblond Also remember that a #FARA cascade is just ordinary FARA in a small, tightly interconnected ecosystem overrun with FARA violations, when people w/nothing else to proffer realize they can proffer dozens-if-not-hundreds of violators. Often w/hard evidence.

See DC, NY & Hollywood.
@MollyMcKew @ifindkarma @goldengateblond And there's far more than just that. See @ericgarland's work on compromised media, for example.

Short version, if you were violating statutes, it's well *past* time to start talking. Or so I understand.

@ericgarland I loved it when prosecutors added 700+ pages of Cohen's formerly "encrypted" WhatsApp messages to the court.

It's not just "what, commercial encryption *isn't* unbreakable?"

Think about all the people calling fellow conspirators on Signal who were already under warrant.
@ericgarland No, not just FISA warrants.

But we've had multiple, vast sources of hard evidence of criminal activities.

#Cryptocurrency transactions, Transition emails, the 420,000+ Hansa users, #FinCEN data, money laundering & so forth, *already* forming a global map of crime & subversion.
@ericgarland So what happens when law enforcement records the phones calls of numerous people for whom they not only have probable cause, but evidence already "beyond a reasonable doubt"?

And what happens when so many callers think their words are encrypted & they can speak *very* openly?

@lauferlaw @ninaandtito Remember...

1. Everything @thespybrief has been teaching us about Venona and deep-cover spies.

cc: @ericgarland @counterchekist
@lauferlaw @ninaandtito @thespybrief @ericgarland @counterchekist 2. If you were taking down cell after cell of Russian assets engaged in conventional criminal activity, you could simply reap harvest after harvest along with all the ordinary criminals, & defer espionage prosecution.
@lauferlaw @ninaandtito @thespybrief @ericgarland @counterchekist 3. If you had already broken their secure communications, say, by expelling "official cover" spies who could act as secure go-betweens w/known credentials & breaking all means of encryption, etc, then it becomes very difficult to warn them about the jaws closing.

Hmm. *How* easy is it to track #cryptocurrencies?

By definition, a permanent, online, irremovable record of each exchange.

Aka, the #blockchain.

@Bambenek literally set up an automatic tracker of neo-Nazi #bitcoin transactions. @NeonaziWallets.
twitter.com/NeonaziWallets
I go into this rather extensively. In part because of just how *much* has surfaced recently on how vulnerable it is.

For criminals at least.
If your wallet public/private key is out there, people can literally Google it.

But notice just how *many* huge cryptocurrency law-enforcement takedowns have been in the news recently.

Backpage gets taken down for child trafficking & money laundering $1/2 billion... in bitcoin?

There's a gentleman who always speaks about #venturefunding in the #renewableenergy sector. Honestly, my eyes glaze over when he goes on about turbines and solar panels and the projects he's working on in Brazil. This is because venture funding is not my area of strength.
One day he told me his revenue projections and my eyes popped at the numbers.

And bear in mind, there are a *lot* of threads which amplify their ability to track down not just the laundered money, but criminals & intel assets, records of crimes, etc.

For example, #botnets! Thousands, sometimes *millions* of computers linked together, letting you hack, launch DDoS attacks, dox and stalk, reap kompromat and demand blackmail ransoms or distribute bribes!

What could go wrong?

Everything.
The trick is: What happens when you overlay all this data from different sources on top of the map created by #cryptocurrency exchanges the underworld thought were invisible & the transactions & holdings unearthed by #FinCEN.

I'm very curious what will be found when the .@FBI/.@NSAGov overlay the data seized from Cambridge Analytica, Facebook, et al & overlay it on everything else.

Mass shootings. #Cryptocurrency bribery patterns. Media subversion.
Evolutionary algorithms take a multitude of programs and throw them at the same problem. You eliminate the ones that fail & mix together those that succeed.

But you can also do that with people & the stimulus directed at them.
.@FBI/.@NSAGov
But if you have access to medical/psychological records & target accordingly, you have a target set whose mental landscape & even psychological triggers have been elaborately mapped out.

& if you consider *people* as disposable as your programs, you can test.

/2. SEC are still trying to wrap their heads around this -- "where does our jurisdiction begin?"
