#BrexitConcerns from the ONS about a worrying disparity in our trade statistics.

"in 2016, Britain recorded imports of services from seven countries of £68bn: but those countries registered total exports to the UK of £140bn"

Seems there is even more at stake than we realised.

Brexit is a bad decision.
I haven't a clue why the colours on that pic are inverted.
Here it is.
Just another huge reason to #LookB4WeLeave

I suppose we can safely say that now #TheFrighteners have been so successfully and publicly put on a certain sector their combined angst will spew a diarrhoea of spin & warp whilst trying to use THAT VERY THING to generate $£Es Some with automated AdTech software already bought.
2/ Some bought by gormless companies, by mistake, some in full knowledge or partial knowledge of what it could do. It will be interesting as time goes on to see who apparently DIDN'T CARE about the likely instigation of its more negative 'dark' capabilities looking to 'side-step'
3/ or even 'wrong-foot' Irish & EU regulation standards, & possibly law. This too is a kind of #climatechange & #ClimateAction in itself, a would be mammoth untouchable iceberg of 'dominion' & 'control' being melted out into an ocean of citizens' scrutiny & advancement for change

Last year, when I was really suicidal because #BrexitReality has unbalanced me, I made this petition to David Davis asking for a FinalSay.
you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/meas…

I'm grateful to everyone who signed up, but it made no difference & I nearly gave up.
Rumble strips are a godsend.
I'm OK but I must fight those feelings of helplessness every single day.
#BrexitIsPersonal

Then there was another #FinalSay petition on @HocPetitions petition that, despite @DExEUgov trying to reject it, went to (great) debate in December 2017.

@HoCpetitions @DExEUgov How much longer do we need to wait until we all accept that we need to put the brakes on & check Brexit?

We'll never be United Kingdom without #FinalSay

It's a result we can all respect, however it turns out

Better safe than sorry

Look before we Leave

I'm supposed to be in #AltUK for a couple of weeks.
I'm losing my hope along with my sleep and my sight.
Quite exhausted.
Much love to @spaceangel1964 who I met at the start when we were all shell-shocked staggering sucker-punched & has fought so hard to put the brakes on Brexit
@spaceangel1964 Bannon is Brexit
Trump is Brexit
Putin is Brexit
Johnson is Brexit
Farage is Brexit
Banks is Brexit
Rees-Mogg is Brexit

Is that who you are?
#FinalSay
@spaceangel1964 Please help to put the brakes on Brexit, before it's too late to steer away from the iceberg ahead without scuppering the ship

We need change but not for the worse

Let's Not Leave
Brexit is a bad decision
We need #FinalSay on our shared future or we'll never be a United Kingdom

All the times the govt's own EU referendum pamphlet, delivered to every house, said that voting Leave meant "less access", "losing full access" & "uncertainty and risk" about the Single Market. But a majority voted Leave anyway.
#democracy @LeaveMnsLeave @DeborahMeaden
Here's the Remain campaign's widely distributed 'Europe & You' leaflet, stating that our votes "will decide your family's future" & "at risk" was being "free to trade with all EU countries with no barriers". A majority voted Leave anyway.
#democracy @Change_Britain @DeborahMeaden
Here's Will Straw, director of the Remain campaign, highlighting that Leave campaigners had "conceded" that outside the EU the UK would lose access to the Single Market. "We must be absolutely clear about what this means", he said. A majority voted Leave anyway

THREAD

On fatherhood and its link to why we must ensure we #stopbrexit and the #Remainernow campaign.

1/14
Early on Thursday my 2nd daughter was born & she is doing well.

Any of you who are parents will appreciate the feelings of pride & affection I have experienced for the last few days. Many will also appreciate the desire as a father to give your child the best future you can 2/14
My 1st child was born in the build up to the #EUref and turned 3 months of the day of the vote.

As a result of being a new father, being complacent & having never been political before, I didn’t campaign in 2016 apart from sharing many of anti-brexit articles on Facebook! 3/14

Big #BrexitConcerns about the 5 serious potential threats to the availability and affordability of food in the United Kingdom after Brexit.
I realise you may not have access so I requested permission from one of the authors to tell you about it. (thread)
academic.oup.com/jpubhealth/adv…
"A new report from the House of Commons Environment, Food & Rural Affairs Committee indicates that food prices, trade & jobs, and food flows across borders -especially in Ireland- look set to be altered and, at worst disrupted, with potentially important implications for health"
Until '54 food was rationed and, during WW2 UK faced serious risk of 2/3 of its food supply being cut off. Today it still imports heavily, mostly from EU. Growth of foodbanks in the UK is a reminder of how precarious the situation is now for some of the most vulnerable in society

#Remain voted for:

A say in whether the EU enlarges or not.
A say in if the EU federalises or remains a union of independent states.
A say in if there is an EU army.
Being the financial capital through which the majority of € is traded while still keeping the £.

#EnlargedEurope

The UK has taken the lead in efforts for EU enlargement. It pushed for the inclusion of Eastern European states. It pushed for Turkey to get its shit together so that it could join (which it made very slow progress with, and has largely been undone by Erdogan)
After #Brexit, the UK will have no influence on EU enlargement. In fact, as setting the EU as a rival, every country that joins the EU will a) strengthen the EU, and b) unravels any trade deals that the UK will have made with that country, isolating it further.

If I sound fed up, that’s because I am.

Fed up that we are investing all our effort in a Brexit that is damaging us, & the external perception of us, just through its discussion.

Fed up that the discussion is not honest & transparent.

There’s more. /1
Fed up that the Tories are playing roulette with our present lives & our futures, without the guts to face their fanatics down.

Fed up that Labour are giving lie to the idea that this will be positive for their voters.

There’s more. /2
Fed up that the noise of Brexit is cancelling out any prospect of quiet logic & reason.

Fed up that language is distorted so often that everything is now presented fork-tongued.

Fed up at the speed & cycle of events that could, but don’t, bring ministers down.

There’s more. /3

.@stephen501 is another #leave voter who wishes he had the chance to vote again now the facts of what #brexit means are becoming clear. Good on you for coming forward Stephen, you are one of millions, just need others to show the same humility! #remainernow #finalsay #fbpe
Here is more from Stephen following his visit to Germany. Highlights the ideologues lies that EU will give us a good deal as they need us more than we need them.
Here is another tweet from #remainernow @stephen501 after he regretted his leave vote he wrote to his MP. Hopefully he can also help persuade other leave voters he knows to do the same now #brexitreality is hitting!
