Female anthropologists have been attempting to carve out a space for themselves since the early 20th century.
The first wave, between 1850- 1920, attempted to include women’s voices in ethnography. This was accompanied by the wave of ‘suffragist’ feminism that was concerned with voting rights, rethinking of women’s roles in the nuclear family and pushing for employment equality.

Something men realise but many women (including my critics) do not: it's not immodesty but #modesty that gives men power over women. It means they can embarrass and demean women. In turn, well-intentioned men seek to "protect" women by limiting their freedom to work & travel. 1/4

I get why "God made Adam & Eve, not Adam & Steve"-type conservatives want to dwell on "biological sex," as it seems consistent with their highly essentialist ideology. But I cannot fathom why any self-described #feminist would resort to this line of reasoning...
If we reduce people to their supposed "biological sex" & start regulating what they can (& cannot) do based on it, it basically opens the doors to discriminating against people for their sexual orientation & gender non-conformity...

It’s so funny and ironic how #liberals call #RadicalFeminism “#WhiteFeminism”, yet, I’ve come across so much actual #racism directed at me and other #GenderCritical black women from self-righteous #trans activists/allies and libfems. 🙄

#TheHandmaidsTale got me really thinking about whether or not its premise is science fiction. Consider world population growth. It is trending downwards. Just look at these population trend graphs. Only Germany experienced population growth with an influx of Syrian migrants.
Now I don't think there is enough data to suggest that social influences (economics, values, etc.) are to blame for population decline more than something more innocuous; that the earth is simply approaching its carrying capacity.
However, we would be remiss to ignore the fact that Caucasian populations are becoming increasingly infertile (Read: theguardian.com/science/2017/j…) —which is the very basis of the events in #TheHandmaidsTale. Coupled with neo-fascist feminism, that dystopian reality is not implausible.
THREAD: here’s the thing about the gender disparity in tertiary education that MRAs love to reference #feminism
1. Pink collar work almost always requires tertiary study. Industries that are seen as ‘for women,’ such as teaching or nursing, require degrees for employment.
2. Blue collar work usually does not require tertiary study, with most people learning through apprenticeships or vocational courses.

Women typically choose fields that are lower paying; even in the #STEM fields. To attribute that to sexism only or even mostly is a very dishonest way of deriving an answer for this complex disparity.

#Women have much greater #hormonal fluctuations each month than #men do. Simply put, a woman's thought life and #emotions are more prone to high highs, and low lows. This isn't a "design flaw" but rather how #God made a #woman to be in touch with the needs of small #children.
Nothing is more short-sighted as a #man than viewing a #woman as an "overly emotional" or "flawed" version of a man's thought process or #emotions. A woman that does not let her emotions out will become very #passiveaggressive, #depressed or #angry. Your job is to be an #outlet.
