Hi #CPC18, I’ve got a few thoughts for you.
All this shenaniganary about the border in NI is a wee tad confusing, so let’s chat.
As the Conservative *& Unionist* Party, you must understand the damage your doing to the Union with Brexit.

No form of Brexit is good for the NI situation. Brexit, in every form, puts the Union at risk. #CPC18
But then again, not much was thought of those outside Britain, was there? That’s why you called it British-Exit, instead of UK-Exit. (NI is part of the UK, but not a part of Britain.)
Basically words matter, & the semantics of this tell us you don’t care. But I digress.

Although hey, he's a great carpool dad and gives clerkships to kids of prominent law professors, so NBD why not hand him massive, largely unchecked judicial power for the next 30-40 years based on those "character" references. #FFS 12/
When a president openly seeks to manipulate DOJ to shield cronies from prosecution, efforts to manage courts won't be far behind. In fact, that process already has been long underway. Sadly, GOP senators are too complicit either to see that or care. 13/
Via @cristianafarias—more on Brett Kavanaugh's Trump sycophancy, which continued to be on display during his Senate show hearings. 14/…

There are other, more substantive concerns to focus on as the Kavanaugh show hearings start today, but I'm particularly struck that to be a Trump Supreme Court nominee is evidently first and foremost to be a sycophantic toady. #TrumpJudges 1/
Neil Gorsuch went out of his way to tell Trump that his speech to Congress, which addressed several matters likely to come before the Supreme Court, was "magnificent"—apparently to reassure Trump of his loyalty when Trump started to worry about that. 2/
In fact, Gorsuch went beyond praising the speech itself to "congratulate" Trump for the "great start" to his presidency—a "start" full of things that already were being challenged in federal court at the time. 3/

Some Gladbach fans were in the news in Germany for chanting that referee Bibiana Steinhaus is a “whore.”

We need to talk about sexism in German football, as unfortunately, reality showed that it could have devastating consequences. (Thread)
First of all, numbers. My partner joined me to football in a few countries & it's always the same question: Why aren’t there as many women at the ground as in DE?

She’s not wrong. Per @DLF, 35% of stadium-goers in Germany are women. In the Premier League, for instance, it’s 25%.
More than one million football club members in Germany are women. Which is a lot. And that could mean a change in how women fans are being perceived by their male counterparts and clubs alike.

On 29 April 2015 at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs, @HillaryClinton delivered the first policy paper of her campaign for the Democratic nomination. It was called "Race and Criminal Justice" and it was not only impressive, it was brilliant. 1/
By that time I knew Hillary Clinton. I mean I had come to understand how she thought about policy & how she viewed this second run.

She was sending a clear signal that day that most ignored or were simply unwilling acknowledge.

This was why she was running for President. 2/
In that speech she said things that no other major politician had had the guts to say. As many pointed she said things that President Obama wasn't able to say.

It was a courageous way to start her campaign. For a woman accused of always playing it safe this was her hell no. 3/

Why is O'Malley still running? There is no way a white man will be either Hillary's (Castro) or Bernie's (Warren?) choice for VP. #DemDebate
