Here are screenshots of the #Oh12 results as they were updated every few minutes on the Secretary of State website. Pls let me know if u see anything that looks "off" (eg, vote totals going down or going up while # of precincts remained the same). TY! drive.google.com/file/d/17j2eG1… 1/
I apologize that I was "typing in" the time in the first screenshots. It occurred to me only later that if I used my iphone, the time would be automated which is much better in terms of persuasive value (eg if someone ever wanted to use screenshots in an election challenge). 2/
3/ The #OH12 screenshots taken by other folks from individual county websites will be ready for viewing some time tomorrow. Thanks to @SwissTriple_M for uploading them to our website, ProtectOurVotes.com!

Update re: #OH12 screenshots! To look for anomalies that might provide the basis for election challenges, we should start taking screenshots every 5 minutes or so of results as they are updated on the Secty of State websites. Here are mine from #OH12: drive.google.com/file/d/17j2eG1… 1/
2/ The results compiled by other folks re: the #OH12 special election can be found on ProtectOurVotes.com. protectourvotes.com/oh12-election-…
3/ This was kind of a test run, and we haven't even had a chance to comb through the results to see if there was in fact anything anomalous (like vote totals going DOWN). Please take a look and let us know if you see anything abnormal.

To detect/deter electronic vote tampering between the precincts & the central tabulators, CAMPAIGNS should place observers at each precinct (after polls close) 2 photograph the poll tapes (paper summary of vote totals) from each machine. @HarleyRouda @BetoORourke @staceyabrams 1/
I don't believe most campaigns are already doing this. I contacted the Ohio Dem party to discuss poll observers b4 the #OH12 election. They referred me to O'Connor's campaign manager who DIDN'T KNOW & transferred me to the Election Protection Hotline, which also didn't know. 2/
If campaigns don't have capacity to put poll observers at each precinct, they shld coordinate w/ @ACLU about this. I have noticed that the @ACLU is training poll observers in some states. I don't know if they know the importance of photographing poll tapes after polls close. 3/

I will now easily debunk this unbelievably stupid theory about 117 year olds voting in #OH12

*cracks knuckles*

First of all, this is a moronic thing to lie about because voter files are public info and any random dude with Excel can prove you’re a gullible idiot.
Before we start, voter files haven’t been updated to show who voted in the #OH12 Special election. Doesn’t happen until finalized results.

Right now know we only know if someone voted is if they pulled an absentee/early ballot.

So yeah, first clue it’s all lies.
Pulling up Franklin County rolls, it is painfully obvious where the #Oh12 geriatric conspiracy theorist got their numbers.

Derp, look at those voters born in *checks notes* 1800.

Why did they go with 116+ years old when they could have gone with 218?!? Much more impressive.

Two graphs to illustrate the key take-aways from the #OH12 special election.
First, Balderson's % plotted against Trump's % by county in the district. (The Trump numbers are only from precincts in the 12th dist.) Balderson just a little less than Trump in each county. (Circles ~ to turnout.)
Second turnout in each county plotted against Trump's % in those counties. (Again, only looking at precincts in the 12th dist.) Biggest drop-off in strongest pro-Trump counties.

🚨GOOD NEWS THREAD - HOUSE VERSION🚨

#OH12 left us with a cliffhanger. We all worked so hard to give @dannyoconnor1 an outright win. Yes it's a steep climb, but it could still happen. Either way, we did good!

But let's not overlook the OTHER good House news from last night.
In "Toss-up" #MI08 Democratic primary voters OUT-VOTED Republican primary voters.

Democrat Elissa Slotkin (@ElissaSlotkin) is going to FLIP this seat right out from under incumbent GOP Rep. Mike Bishop.

But only if we help her right now.

Register. Vote. DONATE. Volunteer.
In "Toss-up" open seat #MI11, Democratic primary voters OUT-VOTED Republican primary voters.

But Democrat Haley Stevens (@HaleyLive) needs to hit the ground running if we want to FLIP this seat.

So let's get started.

Register. Vote. DONATE. Volunteer.

The specific results #OH12 are less important than this:

GOP held it since 1983. In 2016 Trump won by 11 pts, GOP House candidate won by 40.

Today the gap is less than 2,000 votes. Seat up again in Nov.

A DISASTER FOR REPUBLICANS

We need every vote! #BeAVoter #WednesdayWisdom
#BeAVoter means more than showing up at your polling place, although that’s important. Talk about the issues with your friends and family. Organize a group to go to the polls on election day.

5 States had elections on Tuesday night, with the headline event - the special election in #OH12 - coming in too close to call. As of midnight it looks like Danny O'Connor is around 1,750 votes short. What does this mean for the blue wave? [THREAd]
1) Every Vote Counts. As of midnight, the race is too close to call in OH-12. Democrat Danny O'Connor is short around 1700 votes. While there will need to be an official recount and absentee and provisional ballots that will keep this race in suspense, it's still a wake-up call.
2) 1700 votes. Out of 202,000 votes cast. Did you stay home because it was raining? Did you assume the #bluewave was a sure thing? Perhaps you thought your vote doesn't matter? As of 2016, OH-12 had a population of 760,000. Hoping for a blue wave? Listen up: YOUR VOTE COUNTS.

Here's Joe Manchik, the Green Party candidate who will probably make sure that #OH12 goes to an R who doesn't believe in science instead of a D who does.

He believes his ancestors come from a different planet.

(No, I'm not kidding.)
As I was saying...the Green Party candidate in #OH12 who might be the spoiler for the Dem in the race believes that his family comes from a different planet.

Great job, y'all. Way to vet your candidates. 🙄🙄🙄

All #OH12 counties use touchscreen voting machines made by ES&S or Diebold (now Dominion). In April, ES&S admitted that it's sold systems w/ remote access software, & Diebold has apparently done this too. No one knows where. 1/ motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/…
2/ Ohio has a history of using remote access software there. I'm thinking of course of the Ohio 2004 presidential election.
3/ More about the company that used the remote access software in 2004.

Joe Manchik's Green Party vote in #OH12 dropped by 92% between 2016 and tonight. NINETY-TWO PERCENT. This is a huge deal.
The Green Party vote in #OH12 dropped off a cliff tonight. The huge bulk of 2016 Green Party voters in the district pulled the lever for O'Connor.
Tonight's Green Party vote in #OH12 is a tiny group, and most of them aren't winnable as Dem votes under any circumstances. If you're a Dem, don't fret over them. They're not fungible. Let them go.

Let me just make this as clear as possible.

NO @realDonaldTrump rally. NO Congressman Troy Balderson representing #Ohio12th. Only Mr. Balderson who lives in #OH12.

Richmond didn't GOTV. Delaware wasn't wide. It was just wide enough. Trump won that race.
P.S. RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel joined Balderson in declaring victory. ppdnews.us/wt4YfRs
P.P.S. @GOPChairwoman McDaniel is not burying her head in the sand as it pertains to @realDonaldTrump's impact last night. ICYMI: He won that race for Troy Balderson. Further, I do think her doubting the Democrat's ability to compete like this nationwide, is a valid point.

Pundits are making a big deal out of #OH12 having been Republican for decades. When the incumbent steps down, the replacement wins the district by a far narrower margin or if the seat has a Democrat. Kasich, won the district 50-47 in 1982.
Pat Tiberi, the incumbent that stepped down, won the district 52.87-43.83 against Democrat Maryellen O'Shaughnessy. The seat was vacated by John Kasich during that election in 2000. Obama won the district 53% to 46% in 08. Bush won it against Kerry 51-49 (not exactly a blow out).
During those elections mentioned the country was far less divided than it is now. Media attention on a political party was not nearly as negative as it is on Republicans or the current president, Donald Trump. That makes a significant impact on a local election in the spotlight.

I'm also seeing a lot of blame being pushed around in #OH12 re: third party votes. I'm not a fan of third party voters; I think they're inherently selfish.

But the key question we should be asking ourselves right now, is: what are you going to do to help voter turnout?
When we see a close race like #OH12 - which, bear in mind, hasn't been called yet - the response shouldn't be to blame others for not taking it across the finish line.

It should be to ask what we, as individuals, can do to take it across the finish line next time around.
Each of us have a role to play, whether it's making sure our immediate spheres of influence are registered to vote (iwillvote.org should be bookmarked) or talking friends out of third-party votes.

Our concentric circles of influence can absolutely have an impact.

If you're on tenterhooks about #OH12 and you haven't yet picked out a congressional race to volunteer for this fall, you should consider doing that.
Find a race near you that's likely to be close and reach out. There are a bunch of guides to which districts are in play—this is one of them. cookpolitical.com/ratings/house-…
US Senate is also also huge, of course, as are govenor and state leg races, particularly with redistricting looming after the 2020 census. More important than what you do is that you lend a hand with something.

#OH12, 2016: GOP wins seat by 36 Points.

#OH12, 2018: GOP maybe wins seat by <1 Point.

The Certified Brain-Geniuses of GOP Twitter: LOL, SO MUCH FOR THE BLUE WAVE! SUCK IT, LIBS!

Yeah, sure.

You guys beat it back.

Good job!

Go on, relax now.

We'll see you in November.
Where'd those 35 points go, do you suppose? I'm sure they're around here somewhere. Check under the couch cushions... you know, I'm *sure* they'll turn up by November. Relax! Don't worry!

You know, I think you're right. I mean, throwing babies in cages and taking away healthcare are so unpopular right now that the GOP has nowhere to go but up. Take a bow. Take a lap. Take a kn... oh, wait, that one's free speech.

You all hate that.

CNN is saying Ohio is already going to be a re-count and that no one will be able to call it tonight🤣 Low IQ Lemon is telling everyone O’Connor is about to win.
Now they’re giving the big speech about how proud Democrats should be because the gaps have closed so dramatically and GOP is demoralized. It’s like being on another planet watching CNN, a planet starved of oxygen.
Oh, no one knew who the candidate was in #Ohio says @CNN that’s awkward considering O’Connor hired Obama’s PR company😅 OR #CNNISFAKEASSNEWS

Early results have @sharicedavids leading
with 33% in #KS03.
New results have Welder moving ahead of Davids in #KS03.
But still only one precinct reporting. Results were delayed because folks were still in line an hour later than the polls were scheduled to close.
This #KS03 will be long because of early balloting.
As much, if not more, of a nail-biter than #OH12.
Keep thinking #FlipItFemale!
